FAQ
Shoppers
Do I need to bring anything to be able to shop?
Ideally, bring an ID and have your address (if you have one) ready. However, if you don’t have either, that’s okay too. Just bring yourself!
How much does it cost?
All of our services are completely free. We just limit how much each household can get so that there can be enough for everyone.
Do you help with gas or housing vouchers?
Unfortunately, we can only provide what is in the store. That includes clothing, household items (bedding and housewares), hygiene items, and our diaper bank. We do not have gas vouchers, bus passes, or housing vouchers.
Donors
When can I donate?
The best times to drop off donations are during our shopping hours, Mondays and Thursdays 1:00-4:00 pm, and Wednesdays 10 am-1 pm. If you can’t make it during one of those times, give us a call so we can schedule a time for someone to meet you. If you would like to make monetary donations, you can mail us a check or donate online – see more info under the ‘Ways to Help’ tab.
Where should I donate?
If you have more than a box or two, drive around the back while we’re open, stop by the door with the donation sign and call us at 509-536-1084 so that we can meet you to collect your donations. If you just have a box or two, you can drop it off at the front desk.
Should I call before I come in to drop off donations?
If you come in during our normal operating hours, you don’t have to call beforehand, but it is nice to give us a head’s up so that we’re ready for you! If you need to schedule a time to donate outside our normal hours, please give us a call so we can schedule that for you.
Volunteers
Who should I contact if I’m interested in volunteering?
Email mcoc.volunteer@gmail.com if you’re interested in volunteering and want to know more.
What type of things do volunteers do?
MCOC could not run without our many volunteers. Our volunteers work at our reception desk during business hours, sort & display donated clothing and household items, volunteer at our special events, help collect donations of hygiene products, diapers, clothing, and housewares, join our prayer team, and/or assist with office work and grant writing.
